UMT2023 Visit Station 9 | Director of the Teaching Center Liu Songyan and Hu Kunpeng led a delegation to visit and inspect Qingdao Zhengli Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd

On May 15th, more than ten people, including Liu Songyan, Hu Kunpeng, Professor Geng Yong, and some students from the 2022 doctoral class, visited and inspected Qingdao Zhengli Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Qingdao Zhengli"), the director of UMT Teaching Management Center. The company's head, Pang Zijing, warmly welcomed the inspection team and introduced the company's service content and research and development philosophy to the inspection team. After that, the two sides also had in-depth exchanges on the company's technological development, future planning, and other issues.

As the inventor of the "automatic turning device", Pang Zijing led Qingdao Zhengli's "new recruits in hydropower" to assist in the more efficient installation and maintenance of national water conservancy and hydropower equipment. It is understood that the "automatic turning device" is an elastic couple turning device used for adjusting the center of the rotating equipment shaft system, driving the rotor through an elastic couple, and achieving adjustment of the process and dignified labor of personnel in a fully free state. This device significantly reduces the time required for maintenance of hydroelectric power equipment, reduces the cost of equipment maintenance, and reduces the labor intensity of hydroelectric equipment maintenance workers.

At present, the device has been applied in the world's largest water conservancy hub, the Yangtze River Three Gorges Project hydroelectric unit, as well as more than 280 engineering projects with a single unit capacity of over 600000 kilowatts, such as Changheba, Nuozhadu, Pubugou, Goupitan, Liujiaxia of the Yellow River, Xiaolangdi, Daduhe Pubugou, Miyun, Harbin Electric, and Dongdian. Thanks to its achievements in reducing the labor intensity of maintenance workers and improving labor efficiency, the "automatic turning device" technology has won numerous awards. In addition to the "Innovation Award" at the China Patent Technology Expo, it has also been granted exclusive invention rights by China, the European Community, the United States, and Canada.

Pang Zijing also took the Three Gorges unit as an example to point out that the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River installed 32 water turbine generator units with a single unit capacity of 700000 kilowatts. If the generator units need to be overhauled once, the center needs to be adjusted every time. Previously, the adjustment center used mechanical barring, and the number of people invested was about 18 to 30, which took 30 to 50 days. Upon careful calculation, the delay in adjusting the center for the 700000 kilowatt unit resulted in a loss of 1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, which would be equivalent to 500 million yuan and be wasted.

In March 2016, People's Daily and Xinhua News Agency conducted a special report on the application of automatic turning devices in the Liujiaxia Hydropower Plant, pointing out that this technology safely and efficiently shortened the unit turning time from the best record of 8 hours created by mechanical turning to 2 hours. In 2022, Qingdao Zhengli passed the final assessment of the "Credit China" program organizing committee with its good corporate reputation, unique business style, and solid professional technical capabilities. It is planned to broadcast on the Old Story Channel in the near future.

Pang Zijing expressed gratitude and welcome to the arrival of the teachers and students at the UMT Teaching Management Center, stating that studying at UMT has benefited him a lot. He actively applied the knowledge of enterprise management learned in the classroom to specific problem-solving, helping himself improve his management skills.

Director Liu Songyan congratulated Qingdao Zhengli on the achievements made. She said that the application of automatic turning gear has replaced the original labor mode, eliminated safety hazards, ensured work quality, improved work efficiency, and reduced labor intensity. It is a good thing for the country and the people, and praised the development achievements of the enterprise. She also stated that the future is an era of automation, big data, and intelligence, and there are still many articles to write about. Qingdao Zhengli has enormous potential for future development.
As the big brother, Pang Zijing is still fighting on the front line of the enterprise. Director Hu stated that Pang's down-to-earth and optimistic attitude towards work is worth learning from for every student. He hopes that students can take him as a role model, live up to his time, work hard, and create extraordinary achievements in their own positions. At the same time, some suggestions were given regarding the current problems.
Professor Geng Yong believes that innovation is the soul of enterprises, and Pang Zijing has been devoted to researching automatic turning devices for decades, which is admirable. Practice has proven that the automatic turning device he invented and manufactured has significant social and economic value. It is recommended that Qingdao Zhengli innovate in enterprise operation mode, marketing mode, pricing mode, etc. in the future to accelerate the rapid development of the enterprise.
